Water Treatment Plant

The Town of Kremmling is in the process of replacing the existing plant with a modern ultra filtration processing system. The old water treatment plant has reached the end of its useful life and it has become necessary to replace the existing facility. The Town of Kremmling Water Treatment Facility is located west and outside of the Town of Kremmling's incorporated boundary. The proposed project will be located at the same site as the existing facility, where a new treatment building will be constructed to accommodate and house the proposed improvements.  The new plant will be able to produce 2.6 MGD, or approximately 1,800 gpm.  The Town's current sources of water are Sheep Creek, Jones Reservoir and the Colorado River.

In 2023, the Town agreed to use the CMAR (Construction Manager at Risk) approach and has contracted with Hansel Phelps to serve as the contractor. The Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery approach during design is desired because it will allow for the Town to retain a contractor to provide open books guaranteed maximum price (GMP) during design. The CMAR will also provide constructability reviews during design.  The CMAR is brought in during the early stages of the design to review 30%, 60% and 90% design plans and provides an open books GMP. After design is complete, the CMAR becomes the contractor that builds the project. This ensures that all parties have had comment and review during constructions and significantly reduces change orders.

Current total estimated project cost is $16.5 Million
The estimated start date is Spring of 2025.
The estimated completion date is Fall of 2025.
To date $300,000 has been received in State Revolving Funds for Design and Engineering costs.
