Pay and Benefits
Seasonal part-time temporary employees are eligible for limited benefits including MASA. The hiring range for the position is $xx -$xx depending on qualifications and experience. This is a temporary seasonal position.
Summary
This is a safety sensitive position in the Public Works Department performing semi-skilled manual tasks and operating automotive and maintenance equipment to perform winter road maintenance and snow/ice removal duties. This position will be an on-call or as needed basis throughout the winter months only, typically October through April.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- A valid Colorado Commercial Driver License Class B, with air brakes and tanker endorsements is preferred
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English and perform basic math
- The ability to work twelve (12) hour shifts during emergency conditions on short notice. Working knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques and supplies used in snow removal.
Licenses/Certifications
- Must have had a valid driver's license for at least two (2) years with a good driving record. In lieu of a CDL, two (2) years of good driving history and snow removal experience will be considered. Two (2) seasons of snow removal experience with a municipal agency is preferred, but not required as training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in governmental relationships with community groups, agencies, private business and other levels of government is preferred.

- Frequent contact with employees and the public, both in person
- Requires ability to perform multiple tasks at one time with frequent interruptions
- Work is performed with extended periods indoors and outdoors
- Exposed to some hazards that are associated with operating heavy equipment and machinery. There is exposure to injury or accident

- Frequent physical effort that includes: stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; frequent standing or walking; frequently lifting and/or moving at times 50 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving more than 80 pounds; maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks and frequently working with light objects and light hand tools
